thanks for setting this up clay, lovely idea.
i actually have a question---is this a forum only for what's been going on at the blue house specifically? or is this a place where we could also discuss other issues that pertain to FBC right now? i haven't been able to attend the blue house conversations unfortunately, but obviously there's a ton going on aside from that which is somewhat and somewhat not relevant that i'd love to dialogue about.
if we want to stick to blue house stuff only, that makes perfect sense. no harm in asking, right?

Let 'er rip.
I'd like this blog to become a place for discussion of all issues affecting "the younger generation" at FBC. The discussions we've had in the blue house are closely related to the discussions about Sunday morning worship, because really, they are two sides of the same coin: how can FBC improve the effectiveness of its ministry, particularly to the younger generation?
(That said, I should mention that I think the "generational" angle loses some of its power as it pertains to worship, since it tends to draw lines in the sand between "young" and "old", "contemporary" and "traditional", which are useless terms in my mind.
I believe it's possible for cultural changes to our worship services to be well received by people in all generations. To me, the issue is how to craft an atmosphere and dynamic that is more conducive to heart-felt worship, no matter the age range or stylistic preference. More on this when I get a chance to pull my thoughts together.)
But in any case, do feel free to use this forum to initiate discussion on any of these fronts (or others, even), whether or not it's been part of the "blue house" discussions.
okay, wonderful. this is great for someone like me who has been unable to attend the blue house conversations, but is still actively interested in where the church is going, in every aspect. thanks so much again and this isn't the last of me...:)
